THE GERMAN ELECTIONS
ANTICIPATION OF TROUBLE. EX-KAISER’S NEW RESIDENCE CLOSELY GUARDED. United Service Telegram. (Received Juno 6, 5.5 p.m.) ROTTERDAM, June 4. The Dutch police arc watching every corner of the Doom estate, the , exKaiser’s new residence. Detectives are aeuemblod in an adjacent village. The Commander of the Constabulary accompanies the ex-Kaiser when ho goes motor-driving. The reasons for these precautions have not been disclosed, but it is attributed to the possibility of a revolt following on the German elections on Juno 6th. LONDON, Juno 4. Well-informed authorities anticipate that the German elections will show a marked swing towards the Right. It is estimated that the Conservatives, the Pan-Germans, and the militarists' people’s party will gain thirty-five seats majority, and that the Socialists will lose heavily, possibly seventy seats, and the anti-militarist Democrats may lose a third of their representation, while the Independent Socialists may gain perhaps fifty seats. It is feared that, whatever the result, the Socialists and Communists will raise trouble.
