SHORT OF GOAL
STEAMER IN DISTRESS. BOUND FROM DUNEDIN TO NEWCASTLE. (Received June 7, 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 6. The steamer Havre, from Dunedin to Newcastle, reported by wireless on Saturday that she was short of coal, having only just sufficient to keep steerage way. She asked for assistance afid the tug Champion was dispatched from Sydney at 1.30 on Saturday with coal. Sho expects to pick up the Havre at 9 o’clock, to-night, and will tow her to Newcastle.
