Ward, the Government fields'instructor, was. shown a paddock at present in a very flourishing condition, when'on his visit to the district. Tor ' years past' this paddock had been practically unproductive. Tha oldest-inhabitant "in tho district had never known "it to be" of much use, and it was commonly, regarded as tho worst paddock on the farm. The present owner,, however, limed ,the paddock, putting,two ions to tfie acre, and in addition he put 3001 b of superphosphate into the ground • during the spring. It is now easily the-best paddock en the farm, and the result has been astonishing. ; It is producing plenty of grass all the year round, and. is carrying twice as much stock aa any other, portion of the farm.
