MINISTER’S MOVEMENTS,
The Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister for Public Works and Defence and Post-master-General, who has been visiting various districts in the north and receiving deputations, loft Northern Wairoa on Wednesday, and reached Auckland yesterday in time to oatch tho afternoon train for Wellington in order to be present at the reception of General Sir William Birdwood today. To-morrow tho Minister leaves Wellington for the East Coast, visiting Napier, Wairoa, Gisborne, Opotild, Whakatane, Tauranga, and Waihi, and catching the express at Frankt-m on his return to tho capital about the end of next week.
