RETURNED SOLDIERS
NEW ZEALAND EXECUTIVE. DU.. E. BOXER RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT. Tlie election of officers of tho New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association was hold yesterday. Only two nominations for the position of president were received, these being Dr. E. Boxer, of Hastings (tho retiring president), and Mr E. W. luder, of Auckland. Dr. Boxer was reelected. Mr 10. P. Andrews (Auckland) congratulated the president on his return, and assured him of tho loyal support of all those who had voted against him. Similar sentiments were expressed by Mr T. Long (To Aroha), and Dr. "T. Harrison (Dunedin) Dr. Boxer returned , the heartiest thanks for tho honour done him. Delegates had iriado his task an easy one, and ho could not let the opportunity pass without making known how much he Was indebted to members of past executives. It had been ins own personal desire to retire this year, but even eo, he was anxious to work, in tho interests of the association, and he was sure that the execu-tive-elect would be no whit less anxious.
Other officers elected were:—Vicepresidents. Messrs T. Blackwell (Canterbury), 1 P. Watts (Auckland), D. S. Smith (Wellington), and Dr. T. Harrison (Dunedin); executive, Canterbury: Messrs W 7. E. Loadley, T. E. Y. Seddoii. M.P., and L. M. Inglis. Auckland: Messrs T. Long-, It. E. Andreas, and N. A. Cliing. Otago: T. E. Graham. A. Glass, and A. C. Laing. Wellington: .1. D. Harper, J. S. Hanna, Rev. Winton, N. Vorcoo, and J. A. Cowles. Treasurer, Mr C. W. Batten (Wellington). The Auckland and Otago representativ es intimated that they would retire if their elections were not endorsed by district conferences.
