A record pride for land sold in tho city of Wellington has been paid by tho Union Bank of Australia, namely, £SOO per foot. The land measures 45ft frontage to Lambton quay, with a depth of about 60ft, adjoins the Union Bank, and is required for the further extension of tho bank's business. The vendor was Mr P. J. Griffin, of tho Grosham Hotel, Wellington, who purchased the section eonie time back. Tho purchase price of ■ the section bought by tho Union Bank is £21,500, equal to £SOO per fot or £380,000 per acre. That sale wa s made through the agency of S. George Nathan and Co., Wellington. The land is required for tho future extension of tho Union Bank's prcmiser
