ANOTHER MOTOR SMASH
NATIVE LOSES HIS LIFE. TEH PHESs ASSOCIATION". HAWERA, June 1. Seven natives were travelling in a motor-car from Opunako to Otakeho yesterday. When opposite the pa at Oeo the car, through somo unexplained cause, capsized, but landed again on its wheels. A native named Waka was killed, and two others —a man and a woman—were injured and taken to tho hospital. THE BOY AND THE PONY. A peculiar accident happened near Morven recently. While a fad named Vernon Buckingham was riding along tho road his pony shied and threw hun oil, hurting his back. When the lad caught the pony he found that its front leg hhd been broken, which necessitated the animal being shot.
