Mr-Wright: There is no question of tho country's prosperity during tho war period. Mr Massey: I quite agree with that. © Mr Wright: There is evidence of that in the large subscriptions to wm loans.
Mr Massey: They were compulsory. Mr Wright: Then we had bank re-, turns morn than doubled since the war.. All this shows evidences of prosperity. Mr Massey: Money- is plentiful, but it is paper —not gold. Mr Wriffht: We want some of that paper handed over to us. Mr Massey: There will be no mora paper issued while I am here.
