BOYS' INSTITUTE
At a social gathering, the championship cups and other trophies in connection with the Boys' Institute Cricket Club wore presented by Mrs James Hislop president of tho Ladies' Auxiliary. The toast of "The AVellington Cricket Association"" was proposed by Mr G. Bell and responded to by Mr McKcnzio. Aitor supper the chairman, Mr G. A. Troup, president of the Institute, extended a welcome to tho new director, Mr J. AV. Butler, and assured him of the co-operation of the management committee and the Ladies' Auxiliary. Mr Jgmos Hislop, M.V.0., and Mr L. M. Watkins also spoke, and predicted a very happy future for tho Institute undor the directorship of Mr Butler. On rising to reply the director was received with" cheers by the boys. Ho said he would do his- best to keep 'up tho very high standard that had been set by his predecessors.
