COPY OF AMIR'S ORDER
Keutor's Telejrrnm. (Received June 4, 8.15 p.m.) SIMLA, Juno 2. A certified copy of the Amir's orders to tho commander of the Afghan eastern army, aud presumably to other commanders, states that, "according to information received from the Government of India," fighting had occurred owing to some misunderstanding with the Indian Government, and therefore ho was ordering the commander to suspend hostilities until tho door of communication was opened. "As we had no. intention of fighting with this old friend of ours, and wero obliged to take defensive measures, now that lie also desires peace, wo order and command you to keep back your regular troops and tribes, for whom we are responsible, and await further orders." Tho latter adds:—"You should, howover, keep in view jlefensiyo and offensive operations while awaiting the result of tho discussion between tho Indian and Afghan Governments." The order is dated May 27th. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Received June i, 11.25 p.m.) SIMLA, Juno 3. Enemy forces near Thai wore again bombed- and maehinc-gtinuod by airmen. No Afghan troops now remain cast of the Kurram river.
