BURSARIES WANTED AT CANTERBURY COLLEGES. Kress .Association. OHIRISTOHURCH, June 4. " A' deputa'tibn'.'irom the Christchurch Technical. College Board of Governors ■ waited on-the-Hon. J. A. Hanan today, and asked him to make provision for home science bursaries tenable nt Christchurch Technical College and Canterbury College. It was urged that, the same scientific instruction civen at the Otago University could be given in -Christchurch. Mr Hanan replied that he did not think it desirable to take the step suggested, as it would tend to undermine tho principle of specialisation. In view of the acceptance of a chair of homo science by tho Otago University, Mr Hanan said ho did not like to take any steps that would interfere with the arrangements entered into with the Otago University.
