There iras good competition for super comlj{Zigs and cros'sbreds, but low carbonising sorts were irregular, and some were withdrawn. Fine crossbred, and merino combings were about 5 per cent, above the oppning rates; other descriptions were about par. "Kuhana" New Zealand Wool made up to 2Sd, and averaged 2Kid. At the Addington stock market there wns a very large yarding of store ana fat sheep Other classes of stock were well represented. A dairy cow was sold for .£25 in the vards, which is a record price so far. the entry of store sheep was the biggest this year. The quality ivas fair,.but the results of the shortage of feed were evident, and there was a moderate demand for better sorts. . The range of prices is:—2 and 4-tooth ewes 19s 3d to 26s sd, 4, 6 and 8-tooth 17s Gd to 20s 3d, s.m. ewes 10s to 18s 6d, 2 and 4tooth wethers 23s 3d to 26s 3d, 6 and 3tooth wethers 20s! to 21s, ewe lambs 13s Id to lis Id. mixed sex lambs 7s to 20s 6d, wether lambs 9s 6d to 15s 6d. The yarding of fat lambs totalled 4131, as against" 3363 last week. The quality oil round was surprisingly good, but the prices " were a . shade below last week's rates. The range of prices was : —Extra prime lambs to 31s, prime lambs 26s 2d to 2!>s sd. medium lambs His led to 25s lid, lighter lGs to 21s sxl. There was a very large yarding of fat «heep, the quality being rather above last week's offering-?.' The values remained on par with the previous sale.
