ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' SOCIETY

MOCK COMPANY MEETING. An interested and instructive evening was spent by the members of the Wellington Accountant Students' ciety with a mock company meeting. The balance-sheet and accounts ot "The Pint Short Milk and Water Dmtributing Co., Ltd.," were subjected to a live-jy discussion, and the directors ot that concern came in for a lot of adverse oriticism. Mr F. A. dE. Barclay, as managing director, conducted the meeting, and was assisted by Messrs W. L. Dunn. W. C. Young, and H. L. Halliday, who acted in the capacities, of secretary, co-directors and auditor respectively. At the conclusion of tho meeting the conveners were heartily thanked for their efforts. , Mr Barclay w»s congratulated upon hi» appointment as manager for Southland of the A.M.P. Society. His long and active connection with tun Students' Society was referred to, and it was unanimously resolved to elect him a life member.

Congratulations were also extended to Major D. G. Johnston,-a member of tho society, unon his appointment _ as secretary of the New Zealand Society of Accountants.
