The game was purely a friendly one, and was )ot a contest for the Brown Shieid, as was generally the opinion. rt'eiiinyton 1 managed to win by three goals to one. The winners showed excellent coinomation, bm tne k.auteiouiy team played rather disjointedly. A notable member of the Yveiiington team was Lieutenant "Sam" i'Vicicieton. After this Canterbury made a last effort, and although Lillburn on the right wins, and Norman, sent in hot shots, the Wellington goalkeeper, Webster, proved safe, Time was called soon afterwards. Mr V. Astill controlled the game, and Messrs ,T. Roberts and McDonald were the linesmen.
