UNWELCOME VISITATION
EARTHQUAKE AND TIDAL WAVE. Press Association. AUCKLAND. Jun* 2. An earthquake which occurred at the Friendly Islands on April 80th tu followed hy a tidal war* estimated to he Bft high, which did considerable damage oa Haapai. Varan and Nukualofa escaped damage. The extent of the damage on Haapai is not known, the only information having boon received by natives in tho other groups. It is understood no lives wore lost.
