The Royal Mail steamer Niagara arrived from Vancouver at Auckland on Friday afternoon and anchored in the stream for medical inspection. She was granted pratique, and berthed at the Queen’s wharf shortly after 6 p.m., three hours after arrive!. Owing to the largo number of passengers on board the Customs inspection took until 7.30 p.m.. when the passengers were allowed to land. The Niagara loft Vancouver on Mav 11th. and experienced a southerly gale for the first four days, after which fine weather prevailed to Auckland. The voyage was uneventful, and the vessel was declared a clean shin at each port touched at. She had 200 passengers for Auckland and 390 passengers, for Australia. Owing to the strike trouble at Sydney being ur. Acided it is not known whether the tb-ough passengers will be taken to Svdnt- by the Niagara or whether they will be transhipped to another vessel.
C. AND D. LINERS. The Wellington office of the O. and D. Line advises that owing to edlay in delivery by the builders the new C. and D. Lind advises that owing to delay in to sail from New York for. Australian ports Only, her place on the berth foi Auckland and Wellington being taken by the steamer Port Victor, which is to leave New York shortly. Two other and D, steamers announced to load in New York for Australia and New Zen land in June are the Port Augusta art* Port Eliot, but'their ports of discharge have not yet been named. MOANA SAILS FRIDAY. Thu Union Co. advises that tho departure of the R.M.S. Moana from Wellington for San Francisco via ports has been postponed till 5 p.m. next Friday.' PRINZESSIN LEFT LONDON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company has received cab.e advice that the steamer Prinzeasin left London on May 16th for Wellington, where she is due about June 29th. ' MAPOUEIKA FROM NAPIER. The Wellington office of the Union Co. advises that the apoMurika is expected to leave Napier for Gisborne and Auckland late to-morrow evening, in the AraJxura's running.
