’' . April 3. Major S., Blackley, of Wellington, is in London. Mrs C. B, Bower is at 133, Milton road, Franwell, W. Mrs and Miss Massey have returned to London from Paris. Messrs E. E. and E. 11. Williams, of Timaru, are in London. Captain J. P. Ei. Vcalc, N.Z.F.A., of Sumner, is at present in London. Miss H. Parra, of Dunedin, is staying at Didsbury, near Manchester. Major Gordon Mitchell, of Otago, Is at 35, Herd street, Berkeley square. Mr E. Gould has received his discharge from the Auckland Regiment in England. Major A. H. W. Bvcnden, N.Z.F.A., of -Lyttelton, is staying at 13. Hyde Park terrace. Captain G. A. Scott, of the Otago Mounted Rifles, and Timaru (N.Z.), i* at present in London. Colonel C. M. Gibbon is returning from New Zealand and intends settling on his property in Ireland. Lieut-Colonel C. Hel.ier Evans, N.Z. Cyclists Corps, of Gisborne, is staying at Officers' Club, Berkeley square. Mr P. S; Xsbister, who was an officer on the s.s; Wairuua when she was captured by the Wolf, has been repatriatedCaptains C. H. and E. R. Wells, MX., of Monk’s Bay. were with the British forces which took part in the Baku Fxuedition. Captain L. H. Brake, of Christchurch, who is in the R.A.F., has been on furlough in New Zealand and is returning by the Tofnn. Major J. Robertson,who has jnst been appointed Assistant Director of Education, N.Z.E.F.. Egypt, was formerly a trooper with the Mounted M.G.C. The following chaplains have recently

returned to New Zealand: —The Revs. W. Wainohu, I’. Hakawai, B. D. Ashcroft, A. G. Irvine. C- Walls, M.C.. J. A. McKenzie, H. McLean, and A. Mitchell.

Lieutenant G. P. Robertson, K.A.F., of Auckland, who was a P.O.W 7 ., has-been repatriated from Germany. While flying at a height of 13,«00tt he had his machine disabled and landed in German territory. Before joining the R.A.F. he was on inspector in an aeroplane factory.

Mr J. B. Clarkson, who has been on a visit to France and Italy, returned to London this' week. While in Paris be met Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward, ard also Mr Samuel Gompors, with whom ha breakfasted at his hotel. Mr Clarkson expects to leave for the United States in about a month’s time.

A reception to Lieutenant Norman Jones, who returned from the front recently, was given Inst nigh;/ at the residence of Mrs Houlr.ian, Brougham avenue. The evening was a thoroughly enjoyable one, and contributors to the musical programme included contributions by Mrs Oxsparing and Mrs Puinard. Among those present were: Misses Marie Mueller, Morris, Cumo, Cole, Tregonning. Baiver (2), Turnbull, Lishihan (2). (McKay, Houlihan (a), Roberts, and Jones.

Mrs I>. D. Paterson, of 'Wanganui, returned by the Niagara on Friday from a four-months’ trip to Australia and Honolulu.

Mrs Haldane, of Hastings, is on r visit to "Wellington.
