REVIVAL OF PARTY POLITICS
SPEECH BY MR ASQUITH.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. IvONDON, May 17. '•
' ' Mr tri;"H'.' Asquith, in a_ speech at Newcastle, emphasised the inestimable advantage of the compact for a determined Opposition in Parliament. It was the essenco of Parliamentary lire. The artificial conditions prevailing at the time of the December election resulted in a top-heavy unworkmanlike machine. Coalition, often necessary in war, was wholly unsuited to the constructive tasWß' of peace. We must have a Bpeedy return to healthy poll-, tical Parliamentary conditions.
