BETTER ROADS
SUGGESTIONS FROM FARMERS' UNION.

AUCKLAND, May 29.
The question of providing a better roading system in the Dominion was discussed at the Farmers' Union Conference to-day, wheri the /following remits were carried':— (1) That the union in conjunction with the Good Kdads Association should take immediate steps to urge upon the Government the necessity for taking control, of arterial roads and to thoroughly : investigate the Victorian system of road management with a view to securing better administration of public money than in the past. (2) That the Government be asked to liberally subsidise all main arterial roads pending the investigation of the Victorian system.
