ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE.

A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Football Association was held; last evening. Mr W. Auld presided and. the other delegates present were i—Messrs J. Ferguson, It. Spolsky. E. Hendry, H. L. Godber, L. White, C. Webster, O. Ward, H. Yeoman, and A. Williams (secretary). A protest was received from the Boys’ Institute against a glayer in the Marist fifth team being played in the grade as he was over age. The matter was held over' for'further'inquiry. • In compliance with a request'from tnc reserves committee of the City Council fdr a conference in regard to the allocation of 'the playing' grounds, Messrs A. Wells, W. Auld, and C. P, Skerrett, K.C. wore appointed to represent the association.

■ The Wellington Publishing Company intimated that- it proposed, to donate 20 per cent, of the sale of the football programmes .each Saturday to the association as a recompense for the information given for publication. The Eugby Football League applied- to the'association for the loan of a ground as.it'was unable to secure one from the City, Council on account of the playing areas bn the reserves being allotted. It was.decided to transfer, a ground at Newtown Park to the League provided,' the reserves committee of the City'. Council does not object. ■ • It was resolved to make an effort to obtain permission from, the City Council to play , games on the-Basin Beservo. An application was made by JPo New •Zealand Sports Protection League for a contribution towards the expenses incurred in- the municipal elections, and it was agreed to contribute the sum of two guineas. >

■ • The following second division team wan selected to play at Wanganui on June 3rd Abel (Petone), Jones (Y.M.C.A), G. Ward (Y.M.C.A.), Gamble (Marist), Rose (Karori), Lewis (Marist), Jenkins (Petone), J. Deelev (Petone),, Randol (Karori), Eaton (Karori), and Bromley (Jbhnsonville). Reserves: G. Bel] (South Wellington) and Mason (Karori). Mr Ward was appointed manager. The Canterbury Association wrote stating that a representative team was being sent to Wellington to pipy a match against Wellington on Tuesday, June 3rd. j. SCHOOL GAMES.
