CONFERENCE FAVOURED. Labour matters were discussed by the Farmers’ Union Conference in commityesterday. Afterwards it was anjounced that the following resolutions had been' 1 ' That the New Zealand Farmers’ Union as represented by this provincial /committee cordially approves of the La- ' hour party’s suggestion of a round-table conference to consider labour conditions, and is prepared to send delegates to such a conference if invited. That a committee of representative members of the union be set up to draft suggestions for legislation which will be acceptable to‘both -farmers and labour, -and bo suph -as - will meet with the views of ‘the various thinkers who have the good of the Dominion at heart, and that immediate steps be taken to If educate public opinion in sound econo- ’ juic principles.
