GOOD PROGRESS AT SOMES ISLAND. WITH QUARANTINE STATION. The Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister for Public Health, who visited Somes Island yesterday afternoon, stated to a “Times” representative that considerable progress is now being made with the repair and renovation of the quarantine station; and in a -very short time, within ‘a fortnight or two, it will bo well on towards being ready for use. The buildings set apart for women are now almost completed, ready' for furnishing. '■ * > MANUKA A CLEAN SHIP PASSENGER EMBARGO MAY SOON BE LIFTED. Tho Minister for Public Health stated yesterday that the fact that the Manuka had arrived from Sydney and been declared a clean ship pointed to the possibility of embargo on the passenger traffic with Australia being lifted at-an early date. He hoped within a day or two to bo able to announce that a restricted passenger traffic would bo immediately resumed from both Melbourne - and Sydney. ;
