KARORI BOROUGH
MEETING, OF, THE COUNCIL.
.The Karori Borough Council met last night, those present, being—The Mayor (Mr B. O; H. Burn,' and' Councillors T. A. Munt, J. W: Henderson,'L. C. Porter. F. ,T. Laurenson; J. Burns. J. Caughley, R. L. Tingey; B. ‘Harrison, F. C. Fulton. The borough engineer reported that (lie No. 3 South ■ Karori ■ bridge,' which vas considerably damaged - by a-motor-lorry; had been repaired at a cost of £iA, and that it is possible that there may be a legal actio* over the .matter. „/ ; The council' resblvedl to support a resolution submitted by the Gisborne Borotigh Council with rcfernce' to the compilation . of. municipal • and . Parliamentary rolls. Ex-Councillor. Skegg wrote directing the council'* attention, to the formation of the Western- Suburbs Tramway Extension .League', which was formed on. Monday, .and asked the ; opunoil .to. take, immediate ' steps to 'place : before.; the City Council ita views on the subject, and,, to try and secure a- promise /that no,extension 'be. carried 1 out. that will not cotinsot with" the' Karori tramway at the tunnel dr, thereabouts.- The ■ position of Karofi should he strengthened; he said,’' by' the fact-that-the CityCounCil has -has several times promised-to-co-operate in' iro-viding-it with a -much- shorter-route. On .the motion, of .the .Mayor the matter was referred, to the tramway , committee.
