KING’S THEATER In the "Death Dance," now being ehown it tlx© King's Theatre. Alice Brady comes »ut in a new role, that of a cabaret lancer, and she proves that in addition .0 being a beautiful and talented actress die is no mean dancer. The story gives iier ample opportunity to show her ability in emotional parts. The story 3 of a society man, whose wife is unaithful to him, and he goes to a cabaret to punish the man who has made her ionspicuous—one Boresky, a ;rofessional lancer. While at dinner he announces o a friend that all men and women have their price. The friend then wt gers with him that he knows one girl Who is without price, and the wagor is signed by both, and to win Maitland has to obtain , the love of the cue girl. How he does this, intending to merry her after .divorcing his wife, forms a dramatic situation. After Us death by accident, /the girl learns of the wager, and having possession of the ervidenoe for Maitland’s divorce cannot rse it against his wife. The wife attempts to bo revenged on Flora through her dancing partner, and the denouement arrives, in the shape of the "Death Dance," There will be a matinee today at 2.15. with full orchestra. EVERYBODY'S THEATEB. "The Bettor 'Ole,” the wondo.-ful feature play, is attracting full h-tses nightly at. Everybody's Theatre. The picture is favourably commented <.n on all sides, and it is undoubtedlv Oese-ting of that praise. The happiness ‘of the three modern musketeers while carrying on in Franc© are in most cases extremely funny. Mr E. Meates 1 lit reduces ihe picture with the song “Dp From Somerset." The orchestra play suitable music. The supporting items are excellent, and includes the thirteenth episode if , " r ho House- of Hate” and the latest If.the Gazette. EMPEESS THEATER In the “Sorrows of Satan." bp*, zoning this week at the Empress, a most effective dramatisation of Mari© Corelli's famous novel. Gladys Cooper, I mornd's charming and beauty actress, finds as the heroine, full scop© for her undoubtedly great histrionic powers. Tne diessings and settings of the drama ere magnificent. and the characters in the ftorv are faithfully depicted. In addition several films of a most interesting end instructive nature are shown. local items are rendered nightly by Mr C. Melvin.
