A conference between the mine-own-ers and the Green Island miners and representatives of the -Mine Federal tion was held to-day, when the employers made an offer of an increase in the present tonnage ” hewing rate and agreed to the UeiAands ot the men regarding shift vyages. The men’s delegates placed the proposals before the meeting to-night, when they were definitely rejected 1 .
