The following nominations were received for a vacancy on the Otaki Town Board, caused by the retirement of Mr W. 11. Reynolds’ who shortly leaves for England Messrs John Mackny, an excommissionor, C. H. Williams, and William Nc/ble, two well-known business men. A keen contest is expected. Privates William and Raymond Kihby, nephews of Mr C- Kilsby, of Otaki, are expected by the Niagara, duo on May 20th.

Mr I T. Strawhridge, of Levin, has purchased an hotel at Grevtown. Master Willie Row, of the local nnst office staff, has been transferred (o TTnleombo. His place at Otaki will be filled by Master George CottorelL
