Tho Waimarino is due to arrive at Lyt- I telton to-morrow from Auckland, and | after taking in a cargo of produce, will sail again for Auckland. The Mokoia, which is at present engaged in the Mouowai's running, is to leavo Auckland to-day for Wellington. After the handling of her cargo has been completed the Mokoia will be dispatched to Lyttelton, later sailing for Dunedin. After discharging her cargo of Westport coal here, the Kamona will return to the '•-• l o.ist i>ort in load cual for distribution at Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne.
The Breeze, on a special trip from Lytv.ljii, ..riiwd at we.uns't.Hi on Saturday. It is doubtful at present whether she will call at Lyttelton on her way to Tiinaru and Dunedin. • in!- >i,i..;.. ;-.i.!'. .from Wellington and Lyttelton reached Dunedin on Friday to complete the discharge of about 1677 tons of New York cargo. Mr F. Mclntyre, third officer of the Komata, has signed off that vessel's articles.
The Putiki is to sail from Wellington to-morrow for Timaru and Dunedin. The Kini will get away to-day for Greymouth, where she is to load coal.
,The Mapourika is timed to sail for Auckland on Wednesday. The Kapuni, which arrived here yesterday from Patea, will return to that port to-day. The Hawera did not sail for Patea on Saturday as expected. She sailed at 11.15 a.m. yesterday, and is due back at Wellington to-morrow or Wednesday. The steamer Jolv.-, which arrived at Lyttelton at 6 a.n. on Saturday, sailed the same eveni : for Timaru and Oamaru. She will, on taking in cargo, return to Wellington. The Baden Powell will arrive at Wellington from Lyttelton to-morrow, i»nd sail on Wednesday for New Plymouth. The Alexander, from Picton, is a day late, and is not expected at "Wellington until to-morrow. Due to-morrow from Patea, ths W aitangi, will, on discharging, return to Patea the same evening. The Nikau picked up her usual running on Saturday, when she sailed for Nelson It was originally intended to dispatch the Ripple for Akitio, Napier, and Gisborne on Tuesday, but it has now been decided to get her away to-day. The Kahu is expected at Wellington on Wednesday from Napier, and_ on loading she will be sent to Picton. Tho Kaitoa, which sails at 5 o clock this evening for Nelson and Motueka, will return to Nelson and undergo hei annual overhaul. PERTH AT DUNEDIN. The Melbourne-owned steamer Perth arrived at Dunedin on Friday from Newcastle. The Perth, which has a cargo of coal for discharge at Dunedin, left Newcastle on May 13th, and had to contend with strong to moderate easterly winds, and rough seas all the way across the Tasman. THE DREDGE PROGRESS. The conversion of the dredge Progress into a schooner is nearing completion (says the Dunedin "Star"). At Port Chalmers on Friday the vessel s three,, masts were stepped, the dock olectno crane doing the lifting. The masts are each 85ft long. The Progress is expected to be ready for sea about the end ot June. TILE WESTMORELAND. The discharging of the Westmoreland's cargo, pending repairs to her hull . vaa commenced on Fridav at Port Chalmers. Tho vessel's pumps were dealing ettectivelv with the leakage, and an endeavour was being made to stop the lent in the engine department. .. THE BARWON WITH COAL. The Huddart-Parker Company's collier Barwon left Newcastle at 7. p.m. onWednesdav for Dunedin direct. She is brinstine a'bout 5000 tons of coal for discharge there, about 3500 tons of which is for the New Zealand railways.. sel should arrive this evening. The Barwon is a steel vessel of 2998 tons gross register, and was built at Blytn in 1901 for the Huddart-Parker Company. Her principal dimensions are: # .bengtn 325 ft. breadth 47ft. depth 22ft 4m. ' THE ROGOERVEEN. The Eoggerveen. a sister ship to the Barentsz. which l&ft Auckland on Saturday for Melboure. sailed from Sydney for Auckland on Friday and u du 9 on Monday. She is a vessel of 4687 tons gross, and brings a cargo of sugar from Java, which she will discharge at Chelsea. Later, probablv about June she will sail for Sydney with passengers. DEEPEST DRAUGHT SHIP TO LEAVE HOBAKfT. The White Star liner Ceramic, 18,481 tons, left Hobart on April 26th drawInjr Sift sin forward and 32ft 8m alt—a mean draught of 32ft OJin. She was the deepest draught vessel to leave the Hobart wharves. From the time tne Ceramic started to move astern, under her own steam, and without the assistance of tugs, until she was turned, and headed on her course down the river onlv 20 minutes elapsed. SHIPBUILDING IN AMERICA. Further particulars are now available tn respect of tonnage nut into the water bv American yards during the seven months ended January 21st last. The vessels constructed and registered m the shir/building centres during this period aggregated 1149 of 1.936.859 gross tons with an additional output of 43 wooden vessels measuring 110.288 gross tons, built for foreign countries, mainly for i ranee. During tho 12 months ended with January last the total of merchant snipping built and registered aggregated 1957, of 2.920,832 gross tons. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. Tho schooner Louis Thcriault, 25 days out from Melbourne, arrived off tho Heads last oveninsr. The Terawhiti went out and towed the sailer in to the stream, wiiere anchor was dropped at midnight. FLORA FKOM EASTERN PACIFIC. The island steamer Flora left Papecto on Wednesday last for Auckland via Aitutaki and Rarotonga. She is expected to arrive at Auckland on June 2nd. NGAHERE FOR GREYMOUTH. Th» Ngahere, which arrived in Wellington from Lyttelton on Saturday, has 200 tons of cargo for discharge, and on completion will take in cargo to-day. She. is expected to »ail at 3 o'clock this afternoon for Greymouth and Hokitika, returning with coal. RARANGA SAILS. The Shaw, SaviH and Albion liner Karanga sailed from Wellington at 7.30 A-m. on, Saturday for Gisborne and N*.
pier, where she is to load for Home.. The Raranga is expected to return here about June 10th, sailing finally for Home on the 13th. MANUKA LEAVES SYDNEY. The Union Steam Ship Company advises that tho intercolonial steamer Manuka was dispatched from Sydney at 11 o'clock on Friday morning. She is expected to arrive at Wellington to-mor- | row. MOANA FROM 'FRISCO. The Moana from 'Frisco via Papeete is expected to arrive here to-morrow evening or Wednesday morning. She v.ill probably be dispatched on the return journey on June 3rd. THE POET LYTTELTON. The Port Lyttelton is tho next C. and D. Liner to be dispatched from London for Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. PAPAROA FROM GLASGOW. ' The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Paparoa arrived at Wellington on Saturday morning trom Glasgow via tho Panama Canal and Pitoaim islnd, p.nd berthed at Glasgow wharf, to disembark troops. The vessel left Glasgow on April Ist, and the fine weather which prevailed enabled her to make Newport News fourteen days afterwards. From that port Panama was reached seven days later, and on ths eighth day the Panama Canal was negotiated, the veshel reaching Balboa. Colon was the next' port, then the Paparoa proceeded to Pitcairn Island, and fourteen days afterwards Wellington was reached. The Paparoa is expected to leave tomorrow for Auckland, where she will discharge, and after loading will sail for London. Captain H. C. Barnes is in command of the Paparoa, and has* associated with him the following officers: Chief, Mr H. Wilde; second, Mr KersUvy; third, Mr Evans; and fourth, Mr Paterron. Mr Scott is chief engineer, Mr Brown second, Mr Mitchell third, Mr Caesar fourth, and Mr Twomey fifth. Air Dixon is chief refrigerating engineer, end Mr Hamilton is assistant.
