PURCHASE OF AUCKLAND TRAMS

AUCKLAND, May 24
The City Council, at a special meeting, received a report by Mr W. Ferguson, C.E., who reported that the valuation of the tramways was satisfactory. It was not excessive at £1,180,000 for the rights and assets as a going concern. The council decided to Confirm the resolution authorising tho purchase, and authorised a poll to secure £1,250,000 to finance the undertaking
