DUNEDIN, May 25.

Ueneral Richardson arrived here last evening, and was- accorded a royal reception. , iie was loudly cheered at tho station as lie passed through the ranks of returned men to a carriage drawn by six artillery horses, and was driven t,o the Otago Ciub, where another enthusiastic reception c awaited liim. He was carried slioulder--high,' and the crowd would not be satisfied until he had given them a short' address and promised to speak more fully to a gathering of returned men. To an "Otago Daily Times" reporter, General Richardson had something to say "abqifV the necessity foi : continuing Territorial training on tho' lines suggested by experiences of war. On the repatriation problem, General Richardson expressed' tlio;'"opinion that the Government would have to buy up small sections, erect .'houses, and start men on such occupations as poultry farming. He also suggested ahe establishment in each district of u. small bureau where men could Ret information as to how to settle down. His advice to returned men was to get into plain clothes as quickly as possible and ftet back to work. He appealed to the public for forgiveness for small delinquencies on • the "part of men just, returned. The public should try and realise its indebtedness to the soldier.
