CHRIST'S SECOND COMING

Sir, —The conference of churchmen on the subject of %he second coining of Christ calls for public notice, not because the literal fulfilment of Scriptural propheoy is erpeeted by many, but because the advent of a, "second Messiah" who will take up and complete the work Christ began, is deemed by many to be close at hand. Those who interpret passages in the Scriptures to mean that .Christ is due to soon come again to earth ere mistaken, while those who say that He will 60on come' in spirit to inspire some living man on earth to speak to the whole world for Him, are the correct interpreters of Holy Writ. The changes in economic, social, political and religious life on earth which aro imminent now and observable by all intelligent beings were themes discussed by the olergymen at the recent conference. But these good men hope foi the impossible when they expect tho return of Christ in earthly form and body. An educated rational beings they should realise that such cannot come to pass. That Christ is now a Spirit Being dwelling in the ethereal heavens around us, whose only method of communication with this world is via the media of some person or persons living in the flesh whom Ho may please to inspire ias Cod inspired Him when He dwelt on earth. This truly simple, truly rational.and scientific . method of communication affords the only means whereby Christ can direct His adherents how properly to enter into a new 'dispensation on earth that is due soon to arrive and culminate in the attainment of the millennium. The simplicity of this method is**douotless the reason why so many, including tho speakers at tho recent conference, discard it in favour of a belief that Christ will come and speak direct to humanity. The sooner such, good meaning men prepare themselves to listen for a Toiee from among the people upon earth (that speaks in terms which Christ inspires) upon every social, political, economic, and thecosophic phase of life, tho sooner will such men realise that & second Messiah now dwells on earth, waiting for the opportunity'to lead humanity to tho goal that Christ has long planned for all mankind. 20th CENTURY INTERPEETBTt.
