CHRISTCHURCH, May 23. At a meeting of the North Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Railway Officers' Institute the following resolution wa3 carried unanimously:This branch views with alarm and strong disapproval the Minister's action in vetoing tho unanimous decision of the Appeal Board in the recent Longton appeal case, and that the Minister bo respectfully tusked tb reconsider hi a decision, also that strong representation be made by deputation to the Minister and Cabinet that in all cases of unanimous decisions by the Appeal Board the Minister should not have the right to exercise his power of veto.
