The course had improved, hut was still heavy. Gladful was favourite in the Hurdles, and ran prominently, but was unable to last against Algous. . Biplane was scratched for the All-Aged Stakes. Wolaroi was favourite, but Greenstead cleverly' beat the two champion weight-for-age horses. Snub, ridden by O’Shea, ran in the Cumberland Stokes, but never hit the front. Poitrel won as he liked. Results: SECOND HURDLES, Of 500 sovs; two miles and a half. Algous, 9.10 1 Mouatwood, 9 2 Gladful, 12.1 .3 Also started—Jack Rice and Goonaugledene.
