The Afridis, inspired by stories of the enormous amount of loot obtained by the Sinwaris from the Afghans, are now discussing the chance of raiding Bassawal in order to loot the Afghan camp there. Ohitral reports that local Afghan tribesmen are greatly excited at tho prospect of loot from the Amir’s troops. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received May 22, S p.m.) PESHAWAR, May 19. Saturday’s victory was more complete than was previously reported. Wo captured four guns. Over one hundred dead were counted in pno small section. A large enemy force attempted a night attack. . Wo used star shells freely, disclosing the enemy rushing aimlessly about. By dawn the enemy had dragged guns to the hilltops and began bombarding our camp. Tho heights worn stormed, the Afghans at first resisting stoutly, but tho hilltops were taken after our leading regiments had been reinforced. Tlu, Afghan gunners stuck to their posts, and bayonet work followed before the guns were captured. After we reached the heights the hulk of the Afghan force could he seen in the valley, running hard. Our troops fired on them, and many fell. When the Afghans abandoned Dakka, the Sinwaris entered for tho purpose of looting, but fled on our approach, leaving the town half sacked. AMIR CREATES TROUBLE. TO PREVENT INTERNAL DISSENSIONS. LONDON, Hay 13. It ia suggested that the Amir of Afghanistan is creating trouble, to prevent internal dissensions. A Bolshevik wireless message from Moscow reports that the Amir’s uncle, Negrestol, headed an unsuccessful revolt in Afghanistan, and fled to Bokhara. Many of his supporters were arrested.
