Councillor Parry, it was resolved—- " That tills council notes with pleasure the.-proposal by- the Christchurch Citj Council to take an active part in supplying coal to the masses, and offers to-support'and cO-operate and give at usslstance within its poxver to enable tlie Christchurch Council to carry the project to a successful issue: and, furthermore, this council extends a heart} invitation to Dr. Thacker and Iris councillors to visit this district and lean of the many and large areas of excellent coal no-w lying dormant and awaiting the investment of capital,”
