RAILWAY DISPUTE
AND LONGTON APPEAL CASE,
Sir James Allen, Acting-Prime Minister, who left last night for the South Island, stated that the Minister for Railways (the Hon. \V. H. Henries) is not. due back in Wellington till Saturday, so that the decision of Cabinet in regard to the Locomotive Engineers, Firemen, and Cleaners’ Association’s dispute and the Minister’s veto of the Appeal Board’s decision in the Longton case could not possibly be given till then, and might have to stand over till his own return to Wellington' oh Wednesday next.
