SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
A meeting of the Council of the Sunday School Union was held this week. Mr A. IXoby. president, was in the chair and a good attendance of delegates was recorded. The Ashhurst Methodist School was received into the union. J.he balance-sheet of the camp was not quite ready, but it was reported that it was sxpected that with some further subscriptions anticipated from schools there would bo no loss. Arrangements were completed for the ccholars’ examination to bo hold on Julv sth. Encouraging reports wore received from Mr Howe, who is engaged in opening new schools in country districts. Tho Auckland Union has a. scheme for ihe formation of a North Island Union and has a committee busy preparing a basis of amalgamation .for Auckland and Wellington with the obiect of thoroughly covering the whole of tho island. A sub-oommit-tco -was sot up to co-operate with the Auckland committee in the matter.
