Inspired French comments say,,the occupation of Smyrna by tho Greeks is the first step towards .the total •■■dismemberment °'f the Turkish Eimpire. "The apportionment," writes "Pertinax" in the "Echo do Paris," is as followts:—
"Constantinople is to be internationalised under the American mandate, France refusing it. The rest of Xur-fcey-iii-Europe, '-with Smyrnaj will -go to Greece. AKmenia-wilthe independent, protected .by America. Mesopotamia and Palestine will be under mandate to Britain, which is to be the predominating Power also in Arabia; while Syria, including Adana, will be jndar mandate to France. The newspaper "Midi" says tne decision regarding Syria is uncertain, ind there is doubt about America's willingness to accept tho mandate covering Constantinople.
