RAILWAY DISPUTE

The question of the Locomotive Knginedrivers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association's dispute was discussed by Cabinet yesterday afternoon. The Act-ing-Prime Minister afterwards stated to, a "Times'' representative that he regretted that he could not give Mr McArley, the secretary to the men's organisation, the. Government's reply to-day, as promised, owing to the absence of the Minister for iiailways, >cho had made certain engagements in the north, and had not been able to return to Wellington in "time. The question of the Longton appeal ease, added the Minister, also stands over for the return of Mr Hemes.
