Members of the House of Commons will press the .Government to disclose whether it has consented to America receiving 87 interned German ships by ray of compensation for tho Lku,006,000 of debt owed by Germany It is considered in shipping circles that the steamers, which include many passenger liners, are worth more. Tho Government’s reply will bo that America is not demanding indemnities.
TEMPORARY CLOUD IN ANGLOAMERICAN RELATIONS.

It has been decided that 600,uu>. tnna of German shipping seized in American harbours shall remain. American property. America pays the value into the reparation pool. The result has caused a temporary cloud on Anglo-American relations. The British claimed that the ton-tor-ton class-for-claas formula should govern the decision, particularly as tno vessels were driven to shelter in America, by the British Fleet. \ It is pointed out that America gets 258,483 tons more -than she lost, whereas tho British lost 7,638,020 tons during war-time, and holds only 480,000 tons of enemy tonnage.
