A COMPLAINT

(To the Editor “N.Z.” Times. 1 ) Sir, —I had tho misfortune to haVo to sit in the “family circle” at the Opera House to-night, as there was no room elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with the circle, as it is excellent for hearing, but it is a great pity that tho management of the Opera House do not see to it that order is kept up there. As there is evidently in this city the kind of cad with a perverted sense of humour who thinks it funny to try and break up a concert, the only tiling to do is to have tho necessary force thoro to remove him. At least two groups of so-called mon talked and laughed all, through the concert, but one ‘ man betted loudly to all and sundry that be would stop the next song, .so far as I could hear what he said. Ho did it, and made it impossible for the singer to proceed for a moment. If there hod been the slightest sense of fair play or even ordinary decency in the men upstairs they would have seen to it that the man was made to behave. Instead of which thev helped to make him worse by lojid laughter. If the management and of the Opera House cannot seo to it that better order is kept there one can only bo thankful they have not tho chance of trying to direct the affairs of the city. MUSIC.
