CHRISTCHURCH, May 16. The following telegram was sent by Mr H. Hu liter, secretary of tho United Federation of Labour, to Mr T. Bloodworth, Auckland, president of tho federation:— “What is to bo Labour’s attitude to-' wards the ■ Peace, celebrations ? Unions wish to know’immediately.” Mr Hunter has received the follow ing reply from Mr Bloodworth; — “We can take no part in celebrations in honour of an event which' makes the workers of one nation slaves of tho capitalists of another, and does not extend to all nations the right of selfgovernment, and we oppose all wasteful expenditure on such celebrations.”
