ACTION BY STRANDED NEW ZEALANDERS.

Now Zealanders stranded hero owing to the influenza restrictions are to hold a public mooting to-morrow to air their grievances.
OASES DIMINISHING IN AUCKLAND.
AUCKLAND. May 16. The influenza cases still show a steady diminution, the number _ of cases reported this month totalling 18 in the city and 44 in the country districts—one fatal—against 73 for tho first half of last month. The majority of the doses are mild, only one proving fatal. Four cases from the Niagara are still in quarantine, but will he released on Monday next. Over sixty carpenters are now on the island, erecting half a dozen new buildings, to cope with future emergencies.
