After several hours' discussion,’ the Federal Council and "■the'“Federated Seamen’s Union deciHect' 'upon a _ definite course of action regarding the sea-; men’s dispute, and the, formulation of a policy regarding their actions in the next forty-eight hours.- 'There are no details, hut the situation is described as very grave.

Following on the-announcement. by the Fedpral Council, the Seamen’s Union has arrived at a definite decision regarding the calling of a generalstrike''of seamen. It is. reported that the crews of ships in port will strike to-uiglxi,’ but the officials state that the decision will not be published until they have had an ’opportunity f o£, mqej;-, ing the men. ~■■■■ The secretary of the Federated Seamen’s Union stated that the maritime situation had not been more, critical since 1917.
