In view of the continued dry weather and the threatened shortage of the water supply generally, the Welling ton City Council elsewhere gives urgent notice to the citizens that the use ot water other than for-domestic purposes and for urgent industrial machinery must be immediately discontinued. The use of water by means of hoses for cleaning windows, footpaths, watering gardens, cleaning motor-cars (irrespective of tho fact that a meter is instated upon the promises) is prom tn ted until further notice. The Mayor hopes the public will exercise the strictest economy m the use of water, in order that the present dry period may bo safely tided over.
