AMERICAN ENGINEERS IN NEW ZEALAND
To the Editor "N.Z. Times."
Sir, —Now that the war is over, and the part the Great Republic played is well known, would it not be a compliment to a great nation to admit the graduates from their American colleges into the New Zealand Instituted Tho Public Works Department only admits persons who have been through Canterbury University, discriminating against New Zealanders who went to America to graduate. Tho Government employs men with American diplomas, but not as engineers,■ and it is not fair. They don’t hesitate to send them out to works of importance in this country, to works whore they supersede the department’s engineers. Then why not give them the status they are entitled to? SCIiINTTFIC AMERICAN.
