The Berlin correspondent of tho | "Daily Chronicle" says that the retaking of Munich involved 400 deaths and 1000 wounded. Tho material damage done amounted <to £15,000,000, and 5000 people were arrested, including Fon Eisner's widow, who was charged tvith having harboured and assisted Bed leaders. Ho confirms the fact mat 22 hostages were shot by the communists. The number included the Princess of jThurn and Taxis and the Countess ot IWestarp. They were given a feuminutes in which 'to write farewell Itb- ! ters,. and were then taken to a courtyard and placed in a. row close to a Bring party of 200 soldiers. Dumdum bullets were used, and the bodies were | frightfully mutilated.
