FIREMEN CAUSE TROUBfcB. Frees Association. OHRISTCHUROH, May 13. The Maori, which usually reachei Lj-ttelton at 6.30 a.m., did not arrivs until 10.15 this morning. The local manager of the company stated that the delay was due to trouble in the stokehold. The vessel was half an houi late in leaving Wellington last night, and the full complement of firemen was obtained, but several of the men were so incapacitated through drink that they were unable to attend to their work. Two of the ship'B boilers coukHhot be used, and the vessel consequently came down under greatly reduced speed. The other firemen did their best to relieve the situation, but it was found impossible to use all the boilers. The coal was entirely satisfactory.
