(From Our Own Correspondent.) A farewell social was tendered to Mr and Mrs Firth at Moutoa on Friday evening. Mr and Mrs Firth will be leaving for To Puke (Hawke’s Bay) shortly, to follow farming pursuits. 'the work in connection with tiro develorment of the Mangahao scheme is nowin progress, some thirty-three men being employed on road formation. It is reported the Shannon flax mills will resume operations early next month.
