DEFENCE OF BUDAPEST
ROUMANIAN ENTRY DENIED
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, May 6 (delayed). There is no confirmation of the - report of the Roumanian entry into the suburbs of Budapest. On the contrary, a Hungarian official wireless claims: “Wo hold the enemy at many points,” and states that the lino of the river Theiss is firmly in Hungarian hands.
Belakun declares that he has no intention of surrendering to the Entente’s demands, and will defend Budapest to the last, making a stand oa tho Theiss line.
HUNGARIAN LEGATION IN VIENNA.
AN ANTI-BOLSHEVIK COUP,
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. VIENNA, May 6. Ex-officers opposed to Bolshevism carried out a sensational coup on Friday by seizing the Hungarian Legation in Vienna, and taking the occupants prisoners. They seized the £6,250,000, which was intended for Bolshevik propaganda in Vienna, or more probably was intended to enable the Bolshevik leaders to retire in opulence when they were compelled to flee from Budapest.
