Julia Selina Schultz and JohnMuls,' who, are well known to the police; in various .parts of the Dominion,. pleaded guilty to charges of.'being idle arid disorderly persons, in that they habitually consorted with reputed thieves. J Chief-Detective Boddam said the accused .had been . living ■ together for some. time. Mills -was ■an habitual criminal, and for the'past two years' ho had been out on probationary license. For. portion of tha.t period, according to Detective-Sergeant', Andrews' report,' Mills had .earned; good money, tout for the past'sis months he was not known to have dono ' any work, iwas often in a state of • intoxication, and his mode of. gaining a livelihood could only be conjectured. It was ; his. twenty-first appearanco' before the court, and prior :to his arrest dn the present chargo .he was given 6evo- - warnings. . The woman, had thirty r four > previous ; convictions ■ recorded against her. ' :' - :
Mills informed, the court, that he: had completed £2OOO worth •. of .'contracts' since he had been out on,-license, and had accepted, another contract. If given a chance, he would go into the oountry and take the -wonirfn 'with him. ' ' "■■.'!..'.
